  • PRIVATE LIFE IN THE PUBLIC EYE

Remember they are still human and in humanity lies frailties and when the lights go out, one is so lucky to reach out and touch the one who will always be there no matter what comes their way. l have never been to a concert, listened to Kiss's music but always heard of Gene's escapades. He is so very blessed that he knows the meaning of family, even if it took him so many years to figure it out.

When the lights go out, remember who unconditionally is there for you, that is what is important in life, FAMILY

Gene is willing to admit he is wrong and it seems to be very hard for him.  But Shannon is being painted as a perfect angel by the kids, the therapist and by Gene.  I have never been a KISS fan but am a fan of the family.  I have been watching this for several seasons and Shannon loves to make little put-down Gene remarks, as do the kids.  It is as if everyone gets to make fun of him and make their little digs, but no one seems to appreciate the sacrifices he has made.  He has been wrong but this season is all about what he can do to make Shannon happy.  I don't think he really enjoys the put-downs.  It is generally accepted that children of Holocaust survivors are more geared into the security of money.  I think they make a wonderful couple when they're clicking and hope they make it.  But, Gene, MARRY HER!  And get the bimbos out of your life.  You can still be a rock God!.

  • Private Life...

My bets are on this family mustering their strength and love and coming back stronger than ever.  I also think, while the content of this season deals with much sadness, it also teaches us all that education NEVER ends!  Gene & Shannon are still learning - their kids are learning - and they are all facing a growth stage in their lives, a coming-of-age for all of them.

Gene is a good sport and generally takes the hard hits with a smile and some thought, though I think some of it has hurt his feelings here and there.  He and Shannon are still open to new ideas and new ways of approaching life so I think they will come out of this quite well.

I get annoyed with comments that Gene is greedy.  In that way, he's an old-fashioned man who believes that security for his family is what separates the men from the boys - and the bums.  He also has his identity all tied up with success.  Since he felt for too many years that his father left his mom and him to fend for themselves through hard times, he wants to make SURE that his children & Shannon never feel that pain too.  He is too generous a man to be called greedy!   He has given generously of his time, talent, and means to help others...and those people who accuse him of greed should be ashamed of themselves.

  • TITLE OF SHOW EXTREMELY APPROPRIATE

I do not like nor watch reality TV; I did watch this one for half an hour while waiting for another show and I was impressed by Nick and Sophie (may have misspelled name). They seem to be grounded and quite mature for their age. It is hard to raise children even without the "celebrity" factor, yet both appear truly remarkable. They are Gene and Shannon's family jewels. Congratulations, and tell us the secret.

I watched the show last night. I thought they were really rough on Gene. The part with Shannon in a coffin totally freaked me out. Can't imagine what Gene was going thru when he seen that. I learned alot from this episode tho for my own personal healing for I too have walked somewhat in Shannon's shoes with my own husband. I wish them the best of luck!! can't wait for the Wedding episode tonight!! Congrats to Mr and Mrs Simmons

  • October 17th episode

I just recently started watching the show on a regular basis and am really getting hooked on it. I thought that the counsellor who yelled at Gene for "sleeping with young girls", went just a little bit over the line. I understand her reasons for doing so, but you still have to be professional in your behaviour. Having said that, I wish the family all the best, and I'm looking forward to tonight's big episode!!!! :o)
