  • Would you do this job?

How many people would like to work for the PPA after seeing this show and why? I personally would like to give it a try. After living in South Philly most of my life, I would love to teach these frequint ofenders a lesson, espically the ones who park on the sidewalk. LOL By the way anyone have any idea how to apply to be a ticketer? I looked on the offical PPA site but I couldn't find any info.

I actually do this job in Miami, FL!  No boots down here, but tickets and tows. There are times when I feel bad giving people tickets, but sadly I have to say that most people make it easy and sometimes enjoyable to give them a ticket. Its unbelievable how many people will blame you for their own irresponsibility, ignorance, or for blatantly ignoring laws to do what they want! This show cracks me up LMFAO!!! Pay your meters, pay your tickets, don't park where you're not supposed to, don't stop where you're not supposed to and don't blame others for when you don't do what I just said. I love this job and I love Parking Wars LoL!! oh, and contrary to popular belief this is not a minimum wage paying job (at least not in Miami). Its a government job with full benefits that pays extremely well!! So WOOT WOOT for all the PEO/PES! Laughing

I don't know if I would do that job. I live in LA and I wouldn't want to go up against some of the strange people in downtown.

There is NO WAY I would do that job. If Im going to walk around in uniform, writing tickets, and having people thinking I was a cop - then I would want to actually BE a cop with all that comes with it including the gun and full peace officer powers. That "Dont Make Me Look Like A Cop" factor is why NYC-EMS paramedics switched away from the blue uniforms to the green ones worn by NYC-Sanitation. The EMT's and Paramedics discovered they would be less liklely to be shot, stabbed, and beaten if they were mistaken for garbagemen instead of NYPD

PLC, I feel the same way - would love to make the offenders squeak. But KEV definitely has a point and it is strange that more of a difference isn't made between uniforms for the safety of the PEOs. Course the individual PEOs don't have a choice, the uniform is an administrative decision and may have been made to give the impression there is more of an "official" street presence than their actually is - although it seems like most Philly & Detroit citizens are pretty savvy and quick to spot them as PEOs and not cops.

These people who boot the cars are condescending, rude and discussing. I have relatives in Philadelphia and I wouldn't step foot in the state because the civil workers are disgusting. Some places (Philly, Detroit) are just not worth the effort to visit. They just set up their parking as legitimate robbery of it's citizens and visitors.
