    Sell This House Extreme

A&E's long running hit series Sell This House: Extreme is back and bigger than ever. Host Tanya Memme and construction expert Charlie Frattini join forces with new designer Daniel Kucan to create a triple tiered approach to extreme renovation and home staging in an effort to help desperate homeowners prepare their difficult-to-sell spaces for today's tough real estate market.

In the new season of Sell This House: Extreme Tanya and Charlie continue to confront looming deadlines, hidden cameras, and unpredictable homeowners. Now with the help of a new partner, unconventional and often dramatic design expert Daniel Kucan, the team will tackle massive renovations. Tough as nails construction expert Charlie smashes through walls, blows out ceilings, tears out complete kitchens and bathrooms, and anything else on Daniel's never-ending list of improvements while Tanya utilizes her very best diplomatic skills to keep them both in line. Extreme times call for extreme measures, and in today's tough real-estate market it's going to take a lot more than de-cluttering and rearranging furniture to get a home sold.

  • What are you all talking about?

I think it's funny how there are so many comments about Charlie being loud and always yelling. Did any of you see the last episode. Charlie didn't yell once! Yes he made a comment about the homeowner working with flowers but he was obviously doing it in a joking way. This episode showed roger and Charlie working together to get the place done for the homeowner. They compromised on the number of projects to build without nary a slight raising of their voices. I think they both really get along well and the three of them have a good dynamic. It is a much better show with Charlie. Have you tried watching the older shows? They are slow and painful. Keep the show the way it is A&E! Some people just like to complain. Give Charlie a break guys. He is a good addition to an otherwise slow show.

Yes,Charlie managed to keep his voice down but in the previous shows,he didn't.He did post on here recently and told people to go to his FB page.He really shouldn't be shocked about the complaints.

Not sure what you're getting at here but ok. He posted his facebook page. I checked the history and couldn't find that post. But so what if he did. The guy is taking acbeatingvon this discussion board. No I could care less if they keep him or not but I don't think he has been given a fair shake. He has changed the shows dynamic for the better. It is more enjoyable than before. It seems you guys don't like him when he's loud or when he's not. Sounds like you don't like change. Well, if you want the same old boring sell this house then watch the reruns. As for me; I want the new and improved version definitely a much better show. I guess I am one of the few who "get" Charlie. You people need to lighten up and enjoy the show. It's definitely a good one with him, Tanya, and Roger working for the homeowner. Keep up the good work guys!!! I'll be sure to watch you do it.

Hey gotta,a lot of people like me like the old boring shows. The newer ones just take some getting used to I guess. So you don't mind Charlie yelling at people but a lot of us don't like it.I guess with me I grew up with a an alcoholic father and had to live with him yelling at me and Mom over any tiny thing. He wasn't a happy person.

O.k., yes, I'll go with that...Charlie's yelling may conjure up some emotions or feelings like that for people...as Hannah was saying about her alcoholic father and the yelling, who knows here though, we might just see by the month of JUNE or so that things have been cleared up soon..I mean when you think about it...that's just five months away and you can get SOOOO much done by then, notify the show, the main people, do some quick quick marketing for the *new* show and get it all turned around..this is easy for Networks, right?

So sorry for your family experiences. I don't get the impression Charlie is malicious or angry. Rather I feel he is a dedicated construction worker looking to do a good job. I've had experiences with construction People and they take their work seriously, like Charlie. We've seen him joke around with Tanya and roger, yes get loud in motivating way, and also work well with the homeowners. I think we need to see beyond your feelings and see the show for what it is. A learning and entertaining venue for us, the audience. So sorry for your family troubles. Let's not persecute Charlie for them. I will be continuing to watch the show but will most likely not be writing in much any more. Keep it up A&E. Show is great.

I was watching the episode with Dante and Linda - the designers made some wall art for the living room.  It was a painted canvas with fabric covering. Where can I find a pic of these?

  • One thing they should do to make the show better...

It absolutely makes me cringe to see the "Sell This House" Team throw out perfectly good items that could be donated to some sort of goodwill, restore or thrift store. They throw all this stuff in the dumpster (with no regard to the environment) and then they turn around and go to a thrift store to buy things that they admit they should not have thown out. I just cannot stand to see how much reusable stuff they throw away.

There is Habitat ReStore store, thrift stores, Amvets, Goodwill. So many places that will give good purpose to these items. There are people out there who have lost their homes to fires, flood, hurricanes, etc. that may be very happy to be able to have some of these items, after all the people in the home were using it until the show came along to tear it out.

I love the show! Tanya and Roger are awesome!!! That guy Charlie yells too much, I have ended up changing channels and watching something else due to Charlie's yelling and bad attitude. It's a really great show, love the tips too! The ONLY thing I don't like is that they do not donate usable items, they just throw them out and that is not a good thing.

    My Two Cents...

The show is awesome, keep it on!!!

  • Where's it at?

Any idea why it's not on the air today?  I normally watch Saturday mornings but it doesn't look like it's scheduled all day today.  Is it off the air or switched to a new time?

  • No show because Roger left?

Sell This House isn't on today...is it because Roger's left? On his Facebook page, he said he was leaving to do a new project. I can't imagine STH continuing without him...he WAS the show.

  • WHERE IS THE BEST SHOW ON AETV, "SELL THIS HOUSE"?

My fellow "Sell This House" fans, addicts, are freaked out that our show wasn't on today, and for the first time ever, looked up, joined, the AE community to see what is happening.

All my close pals, (and their husbands, as did mine until he died), LOVE "SELL THIS HOUSE", have been hooked since we discovered years ago, and fear now that it is being replaced, taken off due to Roger Hazard leaving???

We tune in early every Sat. am, (on T.V.'s in every room if we are doing our usual Sat. projects around the house, even if reruns).  It has not been easy finding our bickering, so talented, funny FRIENDS, with all the schedule changes, LIKE TODAY, WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT!!!  As always, no matter how late we were out, up, I set my alarm for "sell this house" as today, needing much more sleep, to wake to yet more reruns of the "Armando" show.  Yep, we have watched his shows, only because he was on after "Sell This House".  "Armando's" flip this house is OK, though trite, he's such a conspicuous self promoter, all over T.V., it seems, must be a very inexpensive "fill" show for networks to purchase?  Doesn't hold a candle to "STH".

We will really miss Roger if he is off the show, so talented, funny.  If he is a co-producer of "STH", whoever is, (are), the producer(s), IT WILL BE A TERRIBLE LOSS TO US IF THE SHOW IS TAKEN OFF DUE TO ROGER'S ABSENCE.  Tanya of course, is a great designer herself, (though her "part" clearly to be Roger's silly heavy lifter).  No offense to Roger, but there are many witty male designers, stagers, with whom Tanya could make just as good a show.  Especially with help from Roger who must, (despite his other projects), realize this show is, and can still be a moneymaker, and of course will give us back our show, WE PLEAD.

As with many others, we find the very contrived "Charlie", big mouthed personna, just obnoxious, though the show is good with Tanya & Roger at least.  Roger didn't, doesn't need another "foil" partner with yelling & phony outbursts to try to make this already fabulous show, into yet another phony, "Jerry Springer" type of reality show.  YCH, I just walk out or mute the "Charlie v. Roger" crap which ONLY DETRACTS FROM THE ALREADY DRAMATIC, HIGH PRESSURE, HYSTERICAL, AND UNBELIEVABLY, SO HELPFUL, "DECORATING", STAGING SHOW, WE EVEN LEARN GREAT TIPS FROM.

Whoever thought this show needed the "Charlie character" to make this show worth watching, IS SOOOOO  WRONG. HE IS ONLY A REMINDER TO US, MANY, WHO HAVE HAD THE TYPICAL MISERY OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH A BELLIGERENT, RUDE, TANTRUM THROWING, REAL CONTRACTOR.  HE MAKES MY STOMACH HURT!  AND WON'T WATCH IF THIS IS THE WAY IT'S GONNA BE!

Please producers of "STH", AETV, realize that the pioneering "Reality" show, "STH", has all the DRAMA, EXCITEMENT, funny and disgusting aspects of humanity, from FILTH, to tragedy, then finally "self awareness", most artful, creative success, bailing people out, saving them through most inexpensive fabulous design!........AS THE AUDIENCE GASPS AT THE MANY TIMES DIRTY, OBVIOUSLY UGLY, DISGUSTING HOMES these folk think, obliviously, should sell for top dollar!!!  We just ache, and laugh, for/at the clients having to suffer through all the insults with their first open house videos, making me cringe as don't have much use of my arms, & back, (though able bodied friends feel the same), and I would be equally hummilliated to these homeowners, (most anyway), with the mess I have around due to physical limitations.

HOW I WISH TANIA AND ROGER WOULD COME HELP ME, ORGANIZE, DESIGN, REDO, MY HOUSE FOR MY PAINFUL DISABILITIES, WOULD BE A LIFESAVER!  NEVERTHELESS, THIS WITTY, LOL, CREATIVE, EMOTION PROVOKING, WONDERFUL SHOW, IS AS WELL,  (THE IMPOSSIBLE LIKELY THOUGHT IN PRODUCTION, BOARD MEETINGS), A REAL PUBLIC SERVICE!!!  SURELY TANIA AND ROGER HAVE HELPED THOUSANDS TO SELL, UPGRADE THEIR HOMES, EVEN BETTER, FOR SO LITTLE $$$, AS THEY HAVE WITH US!!!

THIS SHOW SHOULD BE, SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON PRIMETIME ALL THESE YEARS, IS ALWAYS "FRESH", AND OF COURSE THE INSPIRATION FOR "HGTV", ALL THOSE SHOWS, WITH NONE AS GOOD, OR CREATIVE (ON A TIGHT BUDGET NO LESS), AS "SELL THIS HOUSE"!  AND I WAS AN INTERIOR DESGINER!  WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME, NEEDS TO BE IN PRIMETIME AETV!!!

We just cannot bear most of your shows, AETV, that seem so desperate, appealing to the lowest common denominator.  We cannot believe there are audiences for "Hoggers", storage shows et. al., or "Bounty Hunters".  Nobody we know watches these, or the exterminator, and our kids think they are crap as well.

PLEASE KEEP "SELL THIS HOUSE", AND "STH EXTREME" IF "CHARLIE" TONES IT WAY DOWN, AND PUT THE ORIGINAL ON PRIMETIME!!!  YOU ALL AT AETV MUST HAVE YOUR PRIORITIES MESSED UP, WITH THOSE IN CHARGE OF PROGRAMMING FRESH OUT OF REHAB, JAIL, HIGH SCHOOL.  OR THEY'RE SO "EFFETE", SPOILED, WEALTHY, IT'S A NOVELTY FOR THEM TO "ESCAPE" INTO SHOWS ABOUT LOWLIFE'S FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACKS, THE "REAL WORLD" FOLK TRY TO ESCAPE.

I have never written to, or signed up to do, any network, about any TV show so obviously this HIGH QUALITY, (talent, concept), PROGRAM means so much to me, my friends.  WE DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THIS GREAT, INNOVATIVE, TRAILBLAZING, SHOULD BE ON PRIMETIME, SHOW, EVEN IF ROGER LEAVES.  PERHAPS HE WOULD STAY IF RECOGNIZED, PUT ON PRIME TIME, AND GIVEN A PRIMETIME BUDGET.....AS WITH THE "IMMITATORS" OUT THERE NOW!

Please forgive my emotional verbosity, and indeed do offer myself, my house for any makeover by Tania & Roger!!  Thanks!

  • The show

I have a different opinion on Roger supposedly leaving the show. I think he skipped because he didn't like Charlie garnishing the attention; both good and bad. Roger was the king until Charlie came along. And as far a his being too loud. I agree he was loud at times but I have to guess as to why. First I think he is a passionate contractor so that explains a lot. Second, I can only guess roger was driving him crazy behind the scenes. He made a comment in one of the shows how he has Charlie right in his hand. Notice Charlie was nowhere around when he said this. I actually thought Charlie was much quieter in the last few episodes. Was that because roger stopped goading him because he (roger) already gave in knowing he was not going to do another season? Let's face it, the show with Charlie has gotten better. How many times will we need to see roger hang sheets as drapes and put out flowers. Now the show gives good ideas on how to transform a house for a rapid sale. I never thought taking down a wall was within reach. I never knew what load bearing walls were until the extreme version came on. And another thing, what's with the design assistants. First it was chad and then Megan. How much influence did they have on "Rogers" designs? I would like to hear from them. C'mon guys post on this board. Tell us the inside dirt on what it is like to work with roger, Tanya, and Charlie. I know Charlie did all his work or directed his men to do it. Am I to believe roger did all the design work himself? So before we go making roger a saint lets get the whole story. For now, I will still watch the extreme show as it is better and more informative. If roger truly is leaving, I wish him luck. A&E, make sure he is replaced with a designer who has a vision other than sheets for drapes.
Lastly. I think Tanya and Charlie are a good team and the new designer, or roger if he did not leave the show, will make the next shows better. I like the direction they have evolved in. My vote; keep the extreme show.

I'm new to this. Does anyone know if there's anywhere to find out the names of the paint colours that they use on the various episodes? Sometimes they give the names but mostly they don't. I love some of the colours they use and would like to jot down the names for future reference. Thanks.
