    Flood House

    Premiere: Saturday, June 18, 12 noon/11C

In the series premiere of Flipping Vegas, expert real estate investor, Scott Yancey, attempts to flip a flooded house in a high-priced gated Las Vegas neighborhood…but dangerous mold and his wife Amie’s high-end interior design purchases threaten to break Scott’s budget. And when his construction team falls behind, Scott goes ballistic!

  • Flood House

I am watching the flood house episode right now. I have to say that it was really great to see them taking care of the mold problem with such care and getting it done properly. However, there was a ton of pigeon droppings on the roof of the home and he had his contractors do that work. The were using shovels and brooms and not wearing any masks. Pigeons carry a ton of diseases that can be transmitted to humans throught the droppings. It really bothered me that they didn't take the time and care with the pigeon droppings to get them cleaned up properly. Improper cleaning of pigeon droppings can result in death.

I liked the people in the show a lot. Scott seems to know what he's doing, but so cheap that his wife has to keep him in check. But I can tell she's always going to want to spend too much! Just like my wife! LOL! As for those pigeon droppings, you never know what parts of the process they cut out in shows like these. I would have probably turned the channel if they'd spent another 5 minutes showing us all the details of sterlizing pigeon poo. I just assume they did that part off camera later, and just saved the gross part for the show to be funny. And I was totally laughing during that part, so worked on me! I really liked those mexican guys, too. Especially the guy who said Scott was so "stingy."

What about that real estate agent girl? Do you think she's for real, or just someone they brought in for the show? She seemed really good...but maybe she's an actress.

  • Flood House

I loved this show.  I'm a fan of the other house flipping shows on A&E too.  But Flipping Vegas rocks!  I love the conflict between Scott and his wife Amie.  Very funny.  I wonder what really happened with the previous owners of the house.  Did they really purposely flood the house?

  • As sexy as anything on Bravo

At first I wondered about social sensitivity of putting out a flipping show at a time when so many homeowners have been hit so hard by the housing market. But I have to admit the first show was entertaining and drew me in with engaging characters terrific pacing. The danger would be in settling on caricatures instead of characters. Will all men be stingy and money-driven, all women reckless spenders and all Mexican workers incompetent or lazy? Are you listening A&E?

I laughed the whole time what a great show. Great characters!!! will watch the next show for sure!

  • Not Boring...thats for sure....

There are a lot of "flipping" shows on TV but none of them that I've seen keep you hooked in as well as this one. Its interesting to see how these properties are made presentable and sell-able and with a profit in a sea of troubled properties in Vegas. Not only do they make you say " oh no way is this going to work" in the end, at least in the first episode, the flood house looked relatively nice. The cast of characters are entertaining and its fun to watch people deal with the unknown as it happens. This show should do very well.

  • Great Husband-Wife Chemistry

Fantastic new addition to the A&E line-up! I really enjoyed watching Scott and his wife, Amie, as they took on a presumed money pit of a house. Following them as they turned this molded "Floodhouse" into a beauty under a tight timeline adds for great suspense and excitement. The husband and wife team have great chemistry, with plenty of sarcastic humor to boot!

Glad you liked the show! Tune in next week!

  • Great content

For as much Drama as was on the show, there was some great information passed on as well. Need to se maybe see a bit more of the wife making the selections, from paint and cabinets to the stone and tile. It looked amazing when it was all put together. Amie and Michelle from Walker Zanger had some great ideas!  It turned out great!!!

  • I love this show!

I really got into this show from the premiere. The prices for the houses in Vegas are so ridiculously low right now. Our house is so much smaller, it's not even funny, and it costs three times as much! People who can make a profit in this kind of market intrigue me. I know people similar to Scott, who have the ability to squeeze the last dime out of anyone's dying mother. I'm fascinated to see how they tick. Thank goodness for Amy!  I love that she buys whatever she wants and doesn't bother to check with her husband. YOU GO, GIRL!

  • Designing Vegas

Loved the show. Thanks for reminding us that beautiful homes that are constructed well and are in desirable areas still sell, even in Las Vegas. Would love to learn a little more about Amie's and Michele's thought process on the selections and some closer shots of materials and decor.

  • NEXT ON: FLIPPING VEGAS Hot Tub House Saturday, June 25, 12 noon/11C

    Hot Tub House

    Saturday, June 25, 12 noon /11C

Dealing with the Hot Tub from Hell, a new real estate agent, a missing contractor, and a horrible granite disaster, Scott battles the odds to survive a flip that could be his first losing deal. But a mysterious discovery behind a closet wall keeps Scott and Amie obsessed to the end.

  • Flipping Vegas workers

On episode #2 Scott hired workers that was NON-ENGLISH speaking and lost more than he expected. They didn't understand anything that he was telling them. His non-English speaking workers were speaking Spanish and they were talking about how stupid Scott and Ami were. They were right Scott and Ami hired ILLEGALS when they could have wasted that extra money on U.S. Citizens that needed the work. Most of A&E's fix -it shows always have ILLEGALS working when there are LOTS of AMERICAN contractors that need employment.

  • Episode #2

We watch all the Flip shows. My husband also flips houses in his spare time as a hobby. I just saw Episode #2 and my DVR cut off before I got to see what they found in the safe. Can anyone tell me what they found?

There's no way I'll tell what's in the safe! That would blow it for whoever DVR'd the show and hasn't seen it yet. That house was a real junker...more of what I thought was available in Vegas, and looked OK at the end, but with all the commisions and closing fees, Scott probably made nothing on it. Just shows how important location is, and that if you're not careful, you can lose your shirt in the flipping game. And who knows if those workers were illegal aliens or just new imigrants? My wife's mom still speaks almost nothing but Italian, and she's lived in the U.S. LEGALLY for about 25 years! LOL Last week the contractor was English speaking, but that house had a much bigger budget.

  • So staged

It looks like I'm the only one who feels this way, but this show is so fake and staged that I don't even want to see how the house turns out. I normally love all of A&E's programming, but after 10 minutes of this show, I'm shocked that a) they expect us to believe their bad acting, and b) Scott is married to a woman. Let's set up all the possible things that can go wrong. Oops! We dropped the countertop. Oops! Someone threw away the wood floor. The part that made me stop watching was the fact that they belittle their laborers. Clearly, it's all their fault that things go wrong. And let's offer someone who doesn't speak English 20 bucks to suck disease infested hot tub water through a hose. Hilarious!
    Please do better A&E.

I thought the show had a real 'stagey' feel to it, too. Dumb agent buys crap house, check. Crap house is a terrible mess, check. Contractor misunderstands everything, check. Workers misunderstand even more, check. Contractor fired, dropping the nice granite, buying a second slab, finding a false wall with a safe behind it. I dunno - my bs meter was kinda pinging on this one. Although that being said, I'm totally with Cindy M - my dvr cut out & I didn't see what was in the safe, so I came here to see if anyone can tell me what it was. I think I came to see if it would satisfy my bs meter....
