Here is my problem with Storage Wars watchers/fans/supporters, the show is entertaining to some degree, but knowing what I know about the show and the fact that all these are staged seems to get under my skin. For example if you were to ask the average viewer of any these shows why they like Storage Wars better than say Auction Hunters or Auction Kings etc. 80% or more will tell you that they watch because its real, however even with shing proof in their face that it is completely scripted they will maintain their stance that it is not. My point is simple, either you accept that it is staged and simply watch it for the characters and not use the addage that you prefer it over other shows because of its realism as that statement would be invalid. They all have staging and if you are simply watching for entertainment GREAT, if you are watching because Thom Beers and Original productions have led you to believe that it is real, than essentially you have been misled. Additionally after looking at the ratings in relation to the "buzz" on how terrible the Texas version was, well I have to say that I am a bit curious how the ratings sustained close to what the original numbers were for the California edition, considering that the majority of viewers turned the channel within 5 minutes of airing. Simply put not mathematically possible the way the ratings system is setup, once a viewer changes the channel before the 15 minute mark its called a drop-off, and will not count toward the rating, I think the only people not curious on the ratings is Original Productions aka Storage wars production group, I will say no more, but lets put it this way, they seem to put up larger than should be numbers with a certain 2 networks but yet all other shows have they produced essentially bomb by cable network standards, by the way the 2 channels I was reffering to are owned by the same network. It almost makes me want to start a production company of my own, now if I could only get to know a few 20 people with Nielsen boxes HMMMMMMMM................
You are also ignorant of the Neilsen ratings. Youdo NOT have to watch for 15 minutes to get counted. The Nielsen ratings (as I have been a temproary "diary" one several times during week long sweeps months) go in 15 minute increments
Honestly..
