What I see the inmates do for these kids is fantastic.
This program is absolutely
As a former inmate spending 3 years behind bars from the age of 19 to 22,( i am 25 now) I see this is a great program to try and turn young teens around. I never had someone there telling me what i was doing would lead me to prison, but if i had things might have been different for me. These inmates have lost everything and many are facing spending the rest of their lives behind bars. they see that they lost everything so they are reaching out to these teens in efforts to make sure they do not do the same thing they did. This is what the program is designed for. If we paid the inmates in any form, then more and more inmates would try to sign up for the program just to get paid, making the program less affective. If these inmates want to make admends for thier crimes, they can start by changing the lives of teens who may be on their own destructive path. I say that we do not paid the inmates for this program and let them want to do it for free. The inmates who do it for free and because they want to will have the most impact on these teens that come into the program. Why tarnish something that is amazing and works?
