Who is the new narrator?? Why the 3D animation?? Show feels so different!!

So who is this guy who sounds like he is simply reading......and why are we getting all that awful 3D animation. This didn't feel like the First 48 at all!!

Show feels so different!!

I don't like it. I didnt watch the show to get taught about forensics. I watched it to see how the officers react to their job. I dont need this to become an "eduacational" show!! what do you think?? This show is the only reason I have cable. I'll cancel it because I guess the change is done.

well, they've ruined one of my favorite shows. Too graphic with the 3D stuff, the narration is terrible and lots of cheesy visual effects make it feel manufactured and scripted. I will probably be taking this off my season pass on the tivo.

Not the same

I thought that Crime 360 was on then realized it was The First 48. Why is it people always want to fix what isnt broken? The original narrator's voice I always loved and often wondered whos voice it was, but I was so distracted watching last nights episode because it was a repeat. I thought the new season started in Jan. Is it over already? gosh I hope not, this show is the only reason I have tv / cable. Anybody know whats going on?

last nights show was absolutely not right. why are they f'ing with success?! if it ain't broke, don't fix it!! if this is the new format i'll stick with reruns.

The first unwatchable episode of The First 48

It appears that A and E thinks we are all stupid. Renaming a horrible show like Crime 360 to The First 48 will lose viewers rather than increase them. Many of us saw the really bad Crime 360 series and chose not to watch it. Don't insult our intelligence.

This new narrator bites! please please bring the original back....and ditto to the rest of your comments...I didn't even get through the beginning 2 mins before I was disgusted.

Terrible...awful...I HATE IT

Why, Why, Why...take a great TV show and break it by adding stupid graphics...I don't really need to see animations of the inside of a computer when they do a computer search. And the new voice-over guy sounds awful. I HATE IT.

A&E...You blew it on this one!!

Ditto to pretty much every comment on here and all the other posts in regards to the horrible show last night. I have never joined a message board or posted anything ever before about anything, but last nights attempt to sell me Crime 360 (A horrible show I never watched after the first episode) as The First 48 was a joke. I have watched the First 48 for 5 years because it was always the real deal (The only "Reality" show worth watching) and did not come across as scripted and never had lame effects. The package was perfect. GREAT narration, music, stories and real life drama with real emotion. If A&E has abandoned the original format in favor of a failed series format permanently, that will be the end of me watching A&E. BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMAT!!!!

This was my favorite show now it is RUINED!!!

I cant believe they are taking this show the Crime360 route. I HATE that show!!! I don`t want to learn about forensics, or the scanner, It is ridiculous that they changed the show to that extent they might as well take it off the air now. It is UNWATCHABLE TO ME!! Thanks AE for taking away my favorite show.

Thank you to our fans who’ve expressed concerns over last night’s special, THE FIRST 48: FORENSIC EVIDENCE.
Although it was well received by many, it seems to have created a bit of confusion among some. Rest assured this special was a spin-off that is separate from the original series THE FIRST 48. There are no plans to change the current format of the original series. THE FIRST 48 is a show we’re extremely proud of and we truly appreciate our viewers’ opinions.

The First 48: Forensic Evidence is NOT Special

So relieved to hear the over-produced episode I watched last night is not my regular The First 48....Any consideration you'd give to renaming this not very "special" spin-off (so my TiVo doesn't get confused again) would be much appreciated.

I guess you hate it? LOL, not being sarcastic, but wow! So I guess you just wanted to get right to it? I remember sitting in the waiting room of an office and hearing a couple talking aobut it, YELLING even..not necessarily THIS show, but I'm just saying I understand your vehemence? If that's the right word? The man was even YELLING at his SI over it, because it was VERY REAL to him that he didn't like his show anymore. Wow, need to bring in a mediator?? Just kidding...
I hope all parties involved get everything they want here...I'm sure we canmove on!

Just a re-packaged "Crime 360" show

This wasn't even an episode which hadn't been aired before. I wonder if they are planning to re-package crime 360 to tie into a very popular "The First 48".

The "forensic evidence" episode was horrible. it felt scripted and not at all like the documentary that I love. I have been a fan of the first 48 since it started, I have turned many of my friends, family and coworkers on to it. Please do not change the format in any way. Thank you

I'll chime in. Please quit cutting and pasting the same comment into the threads. How about a response to our specific concerns form A and E. The reason for our "confusion" is you renamed a horrible show "The First 48". Change the name to something our DVR's won't record thinking it is actually The First 48 and the complaints will go away.

"Well received by many" actually made me laugh. Talk about spin.....

Oh good... I'm glad it's just an experimental spin off... I don't think the CSI styled graphics and the bad camera work add anything. It's about the people. The families, the detectives, the victim. They have such great stories and real drama. Although I know you guys edit that for effect from time to time. You can't fake the real thing but you an water it down. And that's what the spin off felt like. I do remember how different the first 48 felt in 2004. I hope this spin off means that the original is doing so well that it needs spin offs.
